CANADA REFUGEE RESPONSE

Make a Difference Today

WHO WE ARE

Our Roots

Here at Canada Refugee Response, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support.  Inspired by the perserverence of the people of Ukraine, and their dire humanitarian crisis which escalated in February, 2022, together with artists who want to make a difference, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to co-create partnerships to contribute to the needs of refugees around the world - but most urgently in Ukraine and in host communities globally.  Our aim is to partner with artists to raise awareness of the plight of refugees, and make it easy to find out how YOU can help refugees around the world, providing a one-stop-shop.  We do not collect funds ourselves but create connections of support.  Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

COREY HART

Corey Hart is a Canadian singer, musician and songwriter known for his hit singles "Sunglasses at Night" and "Never Surrender". He has sold over 16 million records worldwide and recorded nine US Billboard Top 40 hits. In Canada, 30 of Hart's recordings have been Top 40 hits, including 11 in the Top 10, over the course of over 35 years in the music industry. Corey is passionate about supporting refugees affected by conflict affected states, and in particular the Ukrainian refugee situation.  He predictably sang about this impending crisis nearly 37 years ago:  "I know the sun will shine thru winter time; I pray the rain may someday end the flame...I've walked through mother Russia, In the cold of winter time, And I've seen; Every mountain that each man wants to climb..."

CONTRIBUTE NEEDED SUPPLIES

With the vast array of humanitarian needs, both financial and non-financial, always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Donation of supplies is something that anyone can do, even within the most limited budget, and can lead to a positive impact. See here for organizations who are aggregating non-financial contributions in your area.  Currently our focus is on the Greater Toronto Area, and we hope to expand to other areas soon.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME AND SKILLS

At Canada Refugee Response, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the humanitarian needs of refugees going beyond donations. Volunteering your time and skills could be done from your home or in the field, but regardless, through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support and much needed skills.
